New features and improvements in pours, rebar sets, and IFC export

Tekla Structures 2019i Service Pack 5 contains useful improvements in pour calculation, rebar sets, and IFC export.

Pour unit calculation

The calculation of pour units has been improved to also attach non-solid items into overlapping pour objects. In some situations, items that are not overlapping are attached based on the bounding box of the non-solid item.

If you open a model where the pour units have already been calculated before this calculation improvement and the model contains non-solid items, these non-solid items are not included in the pour units until you run the Reset all pour unit relations except manual assignments command from the Quick Launch.

Rebar sets: Improvements in splitters and custom components

Creating splitters in rebar sets

Dimensions are now displayed when creating a splitter by picking multiple points. Previously, dimensions were only shown in the single-point picking mode.

Using rebar sets in custom components

  • Leg face point handles selected automatically

When a Leg face properties branch is selected in the Custom component browser, all the point handles of that leg face are now selected automatically, allowing them all to be bound to a plane in a single operation.

  • Editing a custom component through the Applications & components catalog now works correctly. Previously, this could cause invalid rebar sets.

IFC2x3 export: New control for exporting rebars created by rebar sets

A new model option XS_EXPORT_IFC_REBARSET_INDIVIDUAL_BARS has been implemented to control how bars created by rebar sets are exported. If the variable is set to FALSE, bars are exported in groups. If the variable is set to TRUE, bars are exported as individual bars. The default value is TRUE.

Note:

In the IFC file, 'Total number' shows always 1 for groups created by rebar sets and 'Total weight' and 'Weight' show one bar weight. Use NUMBER_OF_BARS_IN_GROUP and WEIGHT_TOTAL_IN_GROUP properties to export the values of the group to IFC file.
