View solid errors

You can view solid errors in a log filefile that contains information related to changes, actions, and errors in the model or drawing

Tekla Structures writes information in log files when the model is saved, numbered or checked for clashes, for example.

. This may be needed, for example, if overlapping volumes and faces occur for parts and pour objects, and you need to analyze the error.

  1. On the File menu, click Logs > Session history log .
  2. Look for rows that start with the phrase Solid error.
  3. Click the corresponding Solid failure position row to show the solid objectmodel object that is represented as a closed 3D boundary representation

Solid objects are based on solid modeling and they can be described as being watertight. Solid objects can be poured, detailed, and deformed, for example.

A diamond-shaped position locator is displayed in the model to point you to the error.

When you click a Solid error row in the log file, hold down the z key to center the view to the error location.

  4. Redraw the view to hide the position locator.
