Define your own colors for object groups
- On the View tab, click Representation to open the Object Representation dialog box.
- Select an object groupmodel objects whose settings match the settings that the user has defined for a certain purpose
In Tekla Structures, an object group is defined by rules and conditions, for example, to control the transparency and coloring of model objects in the views. Object groups can also be used in filtering tools, for example in selection filter, to select all objects that match certain properties.

- In the Color list, select Choose color....
- Do one of the following:
Click a color in the Basic colors palette.
Click Define Custom Colors and create a color of your own:
Click a color in the color window.
Define the color depth by using the color bar on the right, or enter the exact RGB values.
Click Add to Custom Colors.
Click the color in the Custom colors palette to select it.
- Click OK.
- Click Save to save the changes.
When you open the Object Representation dialog box the next time, the Color list shows a maximum of 10 colors that you last defined. Customized colors are shown above the dashed line:
Information about the colors that you define for the object groups is stored in the used_custom_colors.clr file, which is located in the \attributes folder under the model folderfolder that is used for storing files associated with a model
Tekla Structures stores all files associated with a model in a folder it creates with the same name as the model database (.db1).
In multi-user mode all users access the same model folder.
. Information about the colors that you add in the Custom colors palette is stored in the xs_user.xxx file in the model folder ( xxx is your user name).
