Add objects to assemblies

You can add objects to assemblies in the following ways:

Do one of the following

Create a basic assembly

  • Add parts to an existing assembly as secondary parts.

  • Bolt or weld parts to an existing assembly as secondary parts.

Create a nested assembly

  • Add parts to an existing assembly as secondary parts.

  • Bolt or weld assemblies to an existing assembly as sub-assemblies.

  • Add assemblies to an existing assembly as sub-assemblies.

  • Join existing assemblies together without adding any loose parts.

Note:

Sub-assemblies in a nested assemblyassembly that consists of several assemblies on many assembly levels

Nested assemblies include elements that are manufactured as sub-assemblies.

retain their own assembly information and main part(1) part that exists in a building object and that determines the position number for the assembly or cast unit and the direction of assembly or cast unit drawings

(1) Main part can be an assembly main part or a cast unit main part.
