Create fittings

You can fit the end of a part to a plane by creating a straight cutting linestraight line that is defined by picking two points and used for shaping the part or a rebar set

between two points you pick. You can use fittings to extend or shorten parts inside a component , which makes it easier to create connections, details, and so on. Do not use fittings to otherwise change the length of a part in the model.

  1. On the Edit tab, click Fit part end.
  2. Select the part you want to cut with a fittingadjustment of a part end

  3. Pick the first point of the cutting line.
  4. Pick the second point of the cutting line.

Tekla Structures creates a fitting between the two points you picked. The fitting adjusts the end of a beam on a plane, perpendicular to the view planeplane in a space that defines the view

In Tekla Structures, the grids are projected onto the view plane and the grid lines can be visible on it.

View depth is defined starting from the view plane.

Fitting symbol

  • Fittings cannot be used on contour plates.

  • If you apply a second fitting on the same part end, Tekla Structures will ignore the first fitting.
