Note that only the cloning templates located in the folder that is set for the advanced option XS_CLONING_TEMPLATE_DIRECTORY are displayed in the Master Drawing Catalog.
You cannot clone(performed by Tekla Structures) to create a new drawing by using a cloning template
Cloning aims at using the drawing properties, view properties, and object properties from the cloning template in a new drawing.
Drawings can be cloned from the current model or another model.
Cloned drawings need some manual checking.
general arrangement drawings through the Master drawing catalog. You can clone general arrangement drawings only by using the Clone command in Document manager.
You cannot clone multidrawings.
The drawing properties of cloning templates cannot be modified through the Master Drawing Catalog.

The user creates a cloning template of a drawing typically after extensive manual modifications have been made in the drawing, in order to achieve the same appearance and contents in new drawings.
In the master drawing catalog, it is possible to create single-part, assembly, and cast unit drawings using cloning templates. It is also possible to add new cloning templates to the master drawing catalog from the document manager.
that you want to use.
- Go to the Drawing creation tab and specify how dimensions and marks are cloned.
You can select to ignore the dimensions and marks, clone them, or recreate them.
The Marks option controls revision marks and all building objectobject that represents something that will exist in the real building or be closely related to it
A building object is always created in a model, but it is also represented as a drawing object in a drawing in which its properties can be modified.
Selecting Create in the Dimensions and Other marks box is useful if cloning the dimensions or other marks does not produce satisfactory results. Using this option does not create any new views.
- On the same tab, select which object types you want to clone.
- If you want to create a drawing only for certain parts, select the parts from the model.
You can also use an appropriate selection filterfilter used for defining which object types can be selected
Selection filter chooses model objects according to object properties.
Selection filters can be standard or user-defined.
For example, selection filters can be used to select parts for drawings or analysis.
and select the whole model. Activate only the Select parts selection switchswitch used for controlling which object types can be selected

If you have cloning templates that you have created using an older Tekla Structures version and want to utilize the better associativitydrawing property that represents the linking of drawing objects to model objects so that the former are updated according to changes made to the latter in the modeling mode
In Tekla Structures, associativity only relates to one type of drawing objects, namely associative objects. These can be building objects and associative annotation objects.
In Tekla Structures, the term associativity has traditionally been used when referring to the linking of drawing objects to model objects. In other modeling contexts, however, the term associativity may refer to any kind of linking between model objects or parts of a model by using dependencies.
of a newer Tekla Structures version, refresh the drawing associativity by using the Refresh Associativity command, which you can type in the Quick Launch box.
