New documentation sections and other documentation improvements
In this version of the documentation, we have made changes in the organization of the sections and PDF guides. Further instructions on existing features have been added based on requests from our readers.
New and removed sections/PDF guides
In this version of the documentation, we have collected topics related to customizing Tekla Structures as a new section (and PDF guide) called Customize Tekla Structures. The content is largely the same as could be found elsewhere before, but we hope it is now easier to find and access.
There is also a new section (and PDF guide) for Planning tools , which contains the documentation for Organizertool that is used for categorizing and managing model information, object properties and object property queries, and model object classification
Organizer consists of two tools, object browser and categories.
, Task Managertool that enables the linking of temporal data to a model
The task manager can be used to create, save, and manage tasks that are used to create a schedule.
Model objects can be added to the tasks. Organizer categories can be used to select the model objects that will be added to the tasks.
, Layout Managertool that is used to import and export layout data between Tekla Structures and field layout devices
Layout manager enables the use of accurate model point and line data on the construction site.
The Advanced modeling section (and PDF guide) has been removed, as all of the content can be now found under the other sections.
New workflow examples for Organizer
There are now two new workflow examples for Organizer :
- Example: Report areas based on object groups in Organizer , where property categories are used for reporting different area calculations for the selected object groups.
- Example: Calculate and report areas based on object type and project status in Organizer , where property categories are created based on the project status, and used for reporting the area calculations for the selected object groups.
Instructions added for toggle groups
Instructions on how to create toggle groups for custom componentcomponent that the user creates and uses for creating model objects whose composition the user can modify as a group
dialog boxes have now been added, as requested by many of our readers. A toggle group contains one or more check boxes without labels, for example to complement an image:
