Export to the Unitechnik format

You can export the 3D geometry of the cast units to the Unitechnik format. The result is a text file in ASCII format with a file name extension .uni.

Limitation: Cast units with cast unit typeproperty of a concrete part in a cast unit that defines if the structure type of the part is precast or cast in place

cast-in-place are not exported.

  1. Go to the part properties of the parts that you plan to export, and edit the user-defined attributes On the Unitechnik tab as required. The user-defined attributes are environment specific, so you may not have all the settings below available:

    Product type : Product type is important for identifying the object typedescription of a group of objects that share common characteristics

    The objects are grouped based on different characteristics in models and in drawings. Examples of model object types are beams and rebar sets. Examples of drawing object types are parts and marks.

    Storey : Optional field used for planning the transport and erection processes.

    Transport unit number and Transport sequence number : Optional fields used for planning the transport and erection processes.These can be defined in the export settings to be included as part of SLABDATE block.

    Concreting identification (LOT block) : You can select No special treatment or Shovel concrete , or leave the field empty.

    Layer split thickness : Manually define the layers with names and thicknesses.

    Layer not to export : Specify the layer that you do not want to export.

  2. Update numberingprocess of assigning position numbers to parts, cast units, assemblies, or reinforcement

    In Tekla Structures, the position numbers assigned in the numbering are shown in marks and templates, for example.


    Export Unitechnik reads and exports data from the numbering seriesset of identifiers defined by the user, based on which Tekla Structures compares parts, assemblies, cast units, or reinforcement with each other during the numbering and gives position numbers

    Numbering series is defined by a prefix and a start number.

    The user can, for example, allocate separate numbering series to different phases or part types.

  3. On the File menu, click Export > Unitechnik .

    The Export Unitechnik dialog box is displayed.

  4. Define the Unitechnik export properties on the tabs:

    Unitechnik export: Main tab

    Unitechnik export: TS configuration tab

    Unitechnik export: Embeds tab

    Unitechnik export: Reinforcement tab

    Unitechnik export: Validation tab

    Unitechnik export: Reinf. data specification tab

    Unitechnik export: Data specification tab

    Unitechnik export: Mounting part data specification tab

    Unitechnik export: Line attributes tab

    Unitechnik export: Pallet tab

    Unitechnik export: Log files tab

  5. Click Create.

    By default, .uni output files are created in the \UT_Files folder under the current modelmodel that is active in Tekla Structures

    The current model can be a single-user model, a shared model or a working model.
