Slab Reinforcement Top Additional

The 'Slabplate that represents a concrete structure

In Tekla Structures, a slab is created by picking three or more points.

Slab may be part of a floor, for example.

Reinforcement Top Additional' plugincomponent that is developed using Tekla Open API

Plugin is a .dll file and loaded inside Tekla Structures process.

Plugins can be started from the applications and components catalog.

allows you to create reinforcement at slab edge which is connected to another slab or a beam.

How to locate

Installers are available at 'Slab Reinforcement Top Additional'.

After installation, the 'Slab Reinforcement Top Additional' plugin is available in the 'Applications & components'.


Pick a slab and select another slab (optional) which is adjacent to the first slab,
Pick a center / reference beam where reinforcement is to be applied &
Pick beams on other side of the slabs which is parallel to reference beam.

There will be a handle points to change the range for reinforcement. One more handle point to keep the plugin symbol at desired location.

The dialog box contains the following tabs:

    Main Bars
    Cross Bars

Main Bars


Rebar length option:

Type Description
Coefficient Rebar projection outside the beam and calculated based on factor of beam to beam distance as shown dimension L1 / L2 in image.
Distance Exact distance from beam outer face.

This is applicable for alternate range as shown below


Rebar spacing:

This value is target spacing and the spacing is maintained to this value or less than this value.


Cover Setout:

Type Description
Cover from bottom of slab
Cover from top of slab

Range offset:

The bar range can be controlled these offsets.

Rebar Leg length and cover:

The rebar leg length and cover from beam are controlled when single slab selected.

Cross Bars:


Cross bar creation:

This is yes / no control to control creation of additional rebar along beam.


The cross bars position can be configured from main bars (lengthier bars) and beam face.
