Slab Reinforcement Bottom

The 'Slabplate that represents a concrete structure

In Tekla Structures, a slab is created by picking three or more points.

Slab may be part of a floor, for example.

Reinforcement Bottom' plugincomponent that is developed using Tekla Open API

Plugin is a .dll file and loaded inside Tekla Structures process.

Plugins can be started from the applications and components catalog.

allows you to create reinfocement in slab based on beams surrounded.

How to locate

Installers are available at 'Slab Reinforcement Bottom'.

After installation, the 'Slab Reinforcement Bottom' plugin is available in the 'Applications & components'.


Pick a slab,
Pick main reference beam,
Pick remaining beams at other edges of slab and this selection is optional.

The dialog box contains the following tabs:

    Main Bars
    Cross Bars

Main Bars


Rebar length option:

Type Description
Coefficient Rebar cover from beam center / slab edge is calculated based on factor of beam to beam / slab edge distance as shown dimension L1 in image.
Distance Exact distance from beam center.

Change direction of Rebar:

This is yes / no control to control the direction of rebars and by default it created the rebar perpendicular to reference beam selected. If opted 'yes' then it rebar placed parallel to reference beam.

Range offset and spacing:

Range offset from beam face / slab edge are controlled as shown below. Bar spacing is target spacing and the spacing is maintained to this value or less than this value.


Cover Setout:

Type Description
  Cover from bottom of slab
  Cover from top of slab

Cross Bars:


Cross bar creation:

This is yes / no control to control creation of additional rebar along beam.


The cross bars are controlled as like main bars with coefficient / distance. Also range can be defined from beam face / slab edge.

Type Description
  Places the cross bar below main bar
  Places the cross bar over main bar

Hook option:

90 degree hook can be configured and to change the direction hook, enter negative value in leg length.
