PEB Frames
The PEB Frames applicationpart of Tekla Structures functionality that is developed in order to extend the capability of Tekla Structures but that is not included in the Tekla Structures installation
allows you to create PEB frames with a set of pre-set values.
How to locate
Installers are available at Pre-Engineered Building Tools for Tekla Structures version 21.0 and above.
For older versions, download at Pre-Engineered Building Tools old installers
After installation, the PEB Frames application is available in the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications
.
Usage
Click the PEB Frames icon in the toolbar. Then click Pick in the PEB Frames dialog box shown below. Then next pick the direction of the frame. After this, select draw in the dialog box to draw the frame with the loaded settings.

The dialog box has the following tabs:

Frame types:

Interior column numbers - Either 'none' or between 1 to 6.
Interior column spacing - Distance list from the left side column.
Roof slope - Slope in degrees.
Copies - Distance list to create frames at a specified location. The first entry should be 0.0 so that the first frame is created at selected points.
Frame parameters
Number of splices - The options are none, 1, 2 and 3. The splice lengths are shown in the boxes.
The column/rafter uses the splice, base platecomponent object that represents a plate welded to a column base
Base plates are used to distribute the concentrated load of the column over a wider area.

Ridge Rafter option in this tab will be available only when the clear span with ridge rafter option is selected in the first tab.
Interior column parameters
Number of splices -The options are none, 1, 2 and 3. The splice lengths are shown in the boxes.
The interior column uses the splice, base plate(1) part that represents a flat structure
(1) In some contexts, for example in analysis, the term plate object may be used to refer to plates.
(2) plate that represents a steel structure
(2) Plate is mainly used as a connection piece or as a floor plate.

Additional information
Note: This PEB Frame is an application. The values that are given as input cannot be modified later once the application is applied and the frames are created in the model. However, the members created by PEB frames are PEB components, and you can access and modify the required values.
