PEB End Plate to Flange

The PEB End Platecomponent object that represents a plate welded perpendicular to the end of the component secondary part

Plugin is a .dll file and loaded inside Tekla Structures process.

Plugins can be started from the applications and components catalog.

allows you to create an end plate(1) part that represents a flat structure

(1) In some contexts, for example in analysis, the term plate object may be used to refer to plates.

(2) Plate is mainly used as a connection piece or as a floor plate.

How to locate

Installers are available at Pre-Engineered Building Tools for Tekla Structures version 21.0 and above.

After installation, the PEB End Plate to Flange plugin is available in the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications



Click PEB End Plate to Flange in the component cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists

For example, profile catalog and shape catalog are catalogs.

. The input components should be PEB Member.

Interior column connection:
Select the rafter component first, and then the column component as input for an interior column connection. 

End plate connection:
Select the column component first, and then the beam component as input for an end plate connection.


  • Continuous member should always be the first component, and the member which is to be connected to the continuous member flange should be the second.
  • Use only component selection. No part selection.

1. End plate length options

Both side projection Projection at boths side from web line 
Outer flange projection and total length Projection from outer flange side web line and total length of plate

  No long stiffeners

4. Long stiffener orientation 

  Long stiffener the same as column orientation
  Long stiffener perpendicular to the end plate  


User Field 8 is for additional information about bolts. The value is shown in the bolt UDAobject property created by the user in order to widen the range of predefined object properties

User-defined attributes are used when the predefined object properties are not sufficient but more properties are needed. For example, comment, locked, and erection status are user-defined attributes.

The column PEB Member component which holds the end plate should be modified after applying the connection to update the changes to the member resulting from the connection.


  • Splitting the PEB member flange at connection junction: For this, no need to explodeto ungroup the objects that are parts of another object or a component

    In Tekla Structures, it is possible to explode components, cast units, assemblies, bent plates, parts that have attached parts, and drawing shapes and plugins.

    The exploded objects cannot be reverted back to the original group.

Try to maintain the split occurring inside the Insert plate anti-material by adjusting the length of the flange, if required. After applying the connection, the Insert plate anti-material will cut both flange plates.
