Continuous Strip Footing Reinforcement

The Continuous Strip Footingfooting that supports several points of contact or a region of points of contact

Strip footing supports a length of wall or a line of closely spaced columns, for example.

In Tekla Structures, strip footing has a polygon shape that the user defines by picking points.

Reinforcement plug-in allows to create the reinforcement for Strip Footings of any shape (poly shape).

How to Locate

Continuous Strip Footing Reinforcement’plugin is available in 'Applicationpart of Tekla Structures functionality that is developed in order to extend the capability of Tekla Structures but that is not included in the Tekla Structures installation

and Component' after installation.



Click the icon ‘Continuous Strip Footing Reinforcement’ from 'Application and Component'.

Input order

1) Pick the strip footing.

After appling plug-in the reinforcement is arranged as shown below

Additional bar length at miter:

Exact length


The fields highlighted in Blue color in the above picture are main bars start and end offsets to footing.
The field highlighted in Green color is corner offset for all mains bars at all corners.
The fields highlighted in Red color are to define the start and end offsets for stirrups.


The fields highlighted in Red color in the above picture are covers of the side bars to the top and bottom bars.
The fields highlighted in Blue color are covers for the stirrup to the footing.

Main Bars

From this tab user can define the following parameters.
1) Quantity of the bars (by no.of bars or spacing).
2) Bar Properties.
3) End conditions (hooks at the ends and its length).


Stirrup Shape
User can define the following shapes for stirrups.

Bending Direction
This field decides the bending direction and has the following options





The above shown fields define the stirrup spacing. Spacing can be Target spacing or Exact space flexible at ends.

The above shown fields define the bar properties.
