Component Fittings

The built-up fittingadjustment of a part end

, built-up fitting details & built-up fitting plane plug-ins allows user to create the fitting between built up beam and column, a fitting detail for built up column and fitting built up to a plane.

How to Locate

Installers are available at Component Fittings
After installation, 'Built-up fitting', 'Built-up fitting detail' and 'Built-up fitting plane' extensions are available in the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications

group 'Component Fittings'.





Click the respective icon in the above tool bar. The user has to pick the primary part (Component / Beam / Column) and secondary part(1) part that exists in a building object and that is connected to the main part

(1) Secondary part can be an assembly secondary part or a cast unit secondary part.

(2) input part that the user selects after selecting the component main part when creating a component

(2) A component can have none, one or more component secondary parts.

The user has to pick the primary part (Component)  and a reference pointpoint that Tekla Structures creates when the user creates a model object, the point being visualized as a handle

The reference points follow the model object if it is moved. They are only deleted if the related model object is deleted.

Reference points can be selected as snap points in a snap switch.

for built up fitting detail.

The user has to pick the primary part (Component)  and a reference lineline between two reference points

For example, if the user picks two points to position a beam, these points form the reference line, and handles appear at the line ends.

Reference lines can be used in snapping in a snap switch.

by selecting two points / reference plane by selecting three points for built up fitting plane.

These macros create fitting for built up members beam or column.

Additional Information

These macros need to be applied on the built up members using the built up tools. These plug-ins can be applied to any custom partcomponent for creating a part that cannot be created by using any existing part command or part profile

Typically, custom parts are used to create parts that have a complex composition. For example, castellated beams and sandwich panels are often created as custom parts.
