Set the visibility and appearance of model objects

Set the visibility and appearance of model objects

Modify the display settings to define how parts and other model objects appear in a model viewview that is represented in the modeling mode

Model view is available also in the drawing mode and it is represented in its own window.


  1. Double-click the view to open the View Properties dialog box.
  2. Click Display to open the Display dialog box.
  3. Select or clear check boxes to specify which objects are visible in the view.
  4. Select a representationthe way that the information included in a model is represented visually

    option for parts, bolts, holes, welds, construction planes and reinforcing bars.

    You have the following options:

    • Fast

    • Exact

    • Reference line (only for parts)

    • Exact slotted holes (only for holes)

    • Exact - no weld mark (only for welds)

    For cast-in-place concretecast unit type where the concrete is formed, poured, and cured in its final position

    parts, you can select whether you want to show them as Parts or as Pours.

  5. Ensure that the view is selected.
  6. Click Modify to apply the changes.

There no mention of Object Representation here, why?

If you read the title of this article, this is exactly what is achieved by Object representation also.

So please add a mention object groups (filters) + object representation can also be used to control, the visibility of objects. Additionally, please add links to those pages which expand on the use of object groups:
