GA View Object Filter

“GA Out of View Object Filter” allows the user to edit GA drawings very quickly and accurately. This tool will enhance the Quality & Speed, and will reduce manual editing, hiding, filtering of objects which doesn’t belong to that respective Gridmodeling aid that represents a three-dimensional complex of intersecting grid planes or intersecting grid planes and curved grid surfaces

The grid is defined by coordinates in 3D space. It is shown two-dimensionally on the view plane by dash-and-dot lines. A grid can be rectangular or radial.

It is possible to have more than one grid in a model. For example, a large-scale grid for the entire structure, and smaller grids for some detailed sections.

It is also possible to show grids and grid line labels in drawings, and to modify how they are shown in the drawings.

This tool is useful in fast and accurate output and will reduce manually edited information on drawing such as:-
a. Identifying Unwanted Objects
b. Filtering / Hiding Unwanted Objects
c. Deleting Unwanted Part Marks /Bolt Marks.
d. Manually changing View Depththickness of a slice of the model defined starting from, and perpendicular to, the view plane

e. Manually filtering & creating BOM for that Drawing

How to locate

Installers are available in warehouse as 'GA out of View Object Filter'.

After installation, the 'GA View Object Filter' applicationpart of Tekla Structures functionality that is developed in order to extend the capability of Tekla Structures but that is not included in the Tekla Structures installation

is available in the 'Application & components'.

Step 1 : Open the Ga-Drawing, Click the icon to execute the tool, it will prompt you to select the Part Options against the Label Option, see as below.

Part Option
• None : No effect on Unwanted* Part’s in the selected GA-drawing.
• Select : Unwanted* Parts will be selected in the respective GA-drawing.
• Remove : Unwanted* Parts will be removed from the respective GA-drawing

Label Option
• None : No effect on Unwanted* Part Labels (i.e. Part Markmark that includes a set of selected property elements related to a part

Part marks are used for identifying constructions, for giving information about welding, for giving information about assemblies to a workshop, for giving information about how parts should be connected to each other, and for creating bills of quantities, for example.

In the US, the term piece mark is used to refer to position number.

) in the selected GA-drawing.
• Select : Unwanted* Part Labels (i.e. Part Mark) will be selected in the respective GA-drawing.
• Remove : Unwanted* Part Labels (i.e. Part Mark) will be removed from the respective GA-drawing

*Unwanted parts : Parts which are perpendicular to the Grid Planesingle horizontal or vertical plane

Grid planes form a rectangular grid or, together with curved grid surfaces, a radial grid.

Step 2 : After the selection click on “APPLY”, this tool will filter and delete out the Unwanted Parts and its respective labels depending on your option selection,

see output as below.
Drawing Output Before:

Output after executing the GA-Filter tool

This tool has to find out objects / Parts only related to that respective Grid plane & then you can list the filtered parts of the GA in BOM for the same.
