This tool is to create stiffeners on the wallplate that represents a structure such as a wall or roof panel
In Tekla Structures, a panel is created by picking two or more points.
In cast-in-place concrete the term wall refers to a concept similar to panel.
of the duct according to varying size of the wall plate(1) part that represents a flat structure
(1) In some contexts, for example in analysis, the term plate object may be used to refer to plates.
(2) plate that represents a steel structure
(2) Plate is mainly used as a connection piece or as a floor plate.
It is difficult to place individual stiffeners as per the variation of depth of the duct wall, with this tool it will be easy to create multiple stiffeners with the varying depth of the duct plate.
How to Locate
Installers are available at Duct and Plate Work
After installation, the ‘Duct Stiffener’ plugincomponent that is developed using Tekla Open API
Plugin is a .dll file and loaded inside Tekla Structures process.
Plugins can be started from the applications and components catalog.
is available in the component catalogcatalog that contains all system components and custom components, and the macros and applications
The term component catalog is used in Tekla Structures until version 21.1.
group 'Duct and Plate Work'.
On double click you will get the duct stiffenercomponent object that represents a structure that strengthens a steel beam or column
Stiffeners are usually plates.
Stiffeners are used to prevent web buckling at supports or concentrated loads.
dialog box in which you can edit the various fields including arrangement, stiffener size, position, offsets, materials etc.
To use this tool, click the icon in the component cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists
For example, profile catalog and shape catalog are catalogs.
& then select the Duct part keeping ‘Select component’ selection switchswitch used for controlling which object types can be selected
on. Else you can select all the Individual plates of the duct keeping ‘Select objects in component’ switch on.
You can selct the number of stiffeners required & the end distances at the start & end point. You can also select the stiffener profile here. If there is no need for intermediate stiffener(s), then use delete stiffeners option.
Under Position, you can define the plane, rotation of the stiffener profile.
Using corner set out, you can control the junction layout. Choose the marked option to have the stiffener angle back to back.
From below option, if you choose “Add to Main”, it will weld the stiffener with the duct to form one assembly. If you choose “Loose Assy”, it will keep all the stiffener as loose parts.
Using ‘Plate Selection’ option (see below), you can define the plate numbers on which you want the stiffeners.
Using side selection tab (see below), you can define the side of stiffener (inside duct or outside)
You can also control the vertical extension of the stiffeners using below values.
Under the parts tab, control for Profile, material, name, finish & classpart property that groups parts according to identifiers given by the user
The identifiers of classes are usually numbers. Classes can be used for defining the color of parts in the model, for example. Class does not influence the numbering of model objects.
of stiffener profile is available.
