Excel Import

The Excel Import plugincomponent that is developed using Tekla Open API

Plugin is a .dll file and loaded inside Tekla Structures process.

Plugins can be started from the applications and components catalog.

allows user to import the data from the first sheet of selected excel file in to the Tekla Structures drawingdrawing that includes the output of the selected information in a model or a part of the model and other information related to the model and the project

Drawings react to modifications in the model and are updated accordingly.

Tekla Structures includes the following types of drawings: single-part drawings, assembly drawings, cast unit drawings, general arrangement drawings, and multidrawings. Tekla Structures creates drawings using the drawing properties defined for each type of a drawing.

Every drawing is made up of a drawing layout and drawing views.

at desired location, It also creates rectangle boundary as a table for each cell (merged cells also) by default. This plugin list the all excel files under the "<model>\attributes\" folder, hence user need to place the required files in this folder. If excel file gets updated, user need to update this plugin to get the latest data. It works for all types of drawings. It is helpful to create customized table in drawing which can be achieved through this plugin.

Usage

This is drawing plugin. Open the drawing and double click the following icon from "Applications & componenets" cataloguser interface for displaying or modifying information in categorized lists

For example, profile catalog and shape catalog are catalogs.

The below dialog box is appear and pick two corner points to define the left and right alignment of the excel table to import.

  

Excel File: Display the all excel files available in the "<model>\attributes" folder. So user need to copy the excel files to this folder to import into the drawings.

Scale Factor: To control the size of table in the drawing to handle the presentation to match drawing sheet. The is relative to font size in the excel file.

Horizontal alignment: Table alignment option Right/Left based on the picked corner points.

Text Properties: List of attributes files of Text (*.drtxt). All texts in the table are formatted base on selected attribute file.

Rectangle Properties: List of attributes files of Rectangle (*.grt). All table lines in the table are formatted base on selected attribute file.
 

Limitations:

  • Images are not considered.
  • Excel cell wrap text is not support.
  • Border lines are drawn for each cell or merged cell always. Not cosidered the Excel cell border styles.
  • All other Excel cell formating is not support.
