Save a custom component

After modifying a custom componentcomponent that the user creates and uses for creating model objects whose composition the user can modify as a group

, save the changes.

Do this

Save changes to all copies of the custom component

  1. In the custom component editor, click the Save component button.

  2. In the Save confirmation dialog box, click Yes.

Tekla Structures saves the changes and applies them to all copies of the custom component in the model.

Save the component with a new name

  1. In the custom component editor, click the Save with new name button.

  2. Enter a new name for the component.

Save and close the component

  1. In the custom component editor, click the Close button.
  2. In the Close custom component editor message, click Yes.

If you click No , the custom component editor closes without saving the changes.

Is there another way to close the CC editor? Sometimes if I go from 2 screens to 1 screen, the toolbar gets lost on the second monitor which is no longer hooked up, and there is no way to close or save the Custom Component Editor.

Thanks for your question. We'll look into this.

Hi Robert, if your toolbar gets lost, the only way to close the editor is to close the model. When closing the model, Tekla Structures should prompt you to save the custom component.
