Question:
I opened Tekla Structures for the first time, and there are no profiles, material grades, or bolts in the catalogs. Why is this happening?
Answer:
You are most likely in the environment called "blank project." This environment is set up for users who already have their own fully customized catalogs. You will need to get an environment from the Tekla Downloads service.
If you are a new user and do not know which environment to get, you would get the environment that fits the region/ country your work is done in (and the version of Tekla Structures that you are using). For example, if your work is done in the US you would want to get the US Imperial and US Metric environments for versions before 2019, or the USA Environment for subsequent versions. See below:
